GYRO CLUB OF PORT COLBORNE

President's Report

The port Gyros are doing very well because of our very successful recruitment program that was started two years ago.  Our annual Foundersí Night extravaganza which includes our Gyrettes who at the same time do a food drive and hospital drive has again this year brought us 3 new members.  We are no longer a small club and unable to capitalize on our District new member account which was set up by Gerry.  Because of this funding and the International funding which we were able to utilize our recruitment program has been successful.  This years event will follow the same format with PDG Mike Read having the honors that were handled so well that last couple of years by Mike and Dana.  We will again invite 5 couples to the all paid event in hopes of at least 3 new members.

We still meet every 2nd Thursday upstairs at Walters restaurant.  Our 1st Thursday is our exec meeting at an exec. members house.  We have 23 full members along with 2 associates.

Our events are either stag like our cards at the local Corps after our dinner meeting , or our annual Christmas brunch or coed with our Gyrettes with whom we celebrate barbecues, Founders night, Christmas party and Gyro Conventions.  With our new member recruitment and getting these new Gyros into the exec., I hope this is my last tenure as President of the Port Gyros.  Brother-in law Tim is also looking for relief in that one of our new members is an accountant.  Keep on praying guys.  Tim and I sure am.  Amen.
